Information Systems continues to prove a strong career, especially in more rocky economic times. We have been updating our courses to reflect the need for "green" aspects of computing, as well as stronger emphases on social computing, crisis management and the Web, all in the context of strong IS principles, including analysis, design and evaluation. We have a new focus on co-op programs within our undergraduate degree for Fall 2009 and continue to feature a strong co-op program within our MS degrees.
Three of our faculty have returned from productive sabbaticals to further their research efforts and already we are planning new coures to take advantage of their new developments.
We have recently revamped our Ph.D. program to make it even more rigorous, and give a deliberate focus on Human Centered Computing (the intersection between people and computing) and Information Integration & Informatics (information science: data and text analysis).
In April we are sponsoring our fifth annual NJ Web Design Competition for high school students - the future foundation of our community. We do a lot of other outreach as well. Faculty have received several prestigious grants over the past year and are continuing our tradition of being on the leading edge of innovation in several fields. Information Systems is a vibrant, invigorating and welcoming community.
Please browse our web site and get to know our world-renowned faculty, highly engaged students, programs and activities. Feel free to email us with questions you may have.
