Michael Bieber (PI) has been researching in hypermedia since 1987. He leads the Dynamic Hypermedia Engine project and co-directs NJIT’s Collaborative Hypermedia Research Lab. He will be the primary liaison with partnering NSDL/STEM projects.

Il Im is leading the collaborative filtering development, as well as the evaluation. He has developed a collaborative filtering engine for recommendation and used it to investigate how accuracy of collaborative filtering technology varies across various domains and user groups. He has also worked on several system development and evaluation projects. Throughout his research projects, he has designed several experiments and used various statistical data analysis methods including ANOVA, regression analysis, non-parametric methods, and structural equation model analysis.

Yi-fang Wu is leading our lexical analysis research. She has developed several software programs using natural language processing, knowledge organization, and information extraction techniques. She will examine sources and formats of documents, glossaries and thesauri from all collections to decide any additional processes needed to prepare documents for DLSI, the Noun Phrase Extractor and the Ontology Developer. She will integrate the two tools with DLSI.
