Description:

Individuals with the disorder Aphasia lose their ability to comprehend and generate speech. This is result of trauma to those areas of the brain that support the generation and compehension of speech and written language, usually through a stroke or other form of head injury. The intent of the Aphasia Project is to develop tools to support people with this disorder so that they can function adequately in the world and lead a richer and fuller life. The project is a joint project between Princeton University, the University of British Columbia and New Jersey Institute of Technology.
